Kori Tolfa demonstrates PPE prototypes for Batallion Chief Jase Smith and Assistant Chief David Rainwater.

Because personal protective equipment was in such short supply Kori Tolfa, using her experience as an engineering student and as a Maker Spot guru, designed face shield prototypes for first responders. Chiefs Smith & Rainwater selected one for the Library to produce. The selected prototype were made using already available materials, which allowed the Library to produce between 18-21 PPEs/day using its 3D printers.
