Smithfield Feed and Seed’s store front in 1975. The building was located on Main Street in Smithfield, but was later demolished.

This photo was taken early on in the pandemic. Even as various institutions and business temporarily closed their doors church signs offered messages of hope.

Smithfield Cemetery is the final resting place of many early settlers of the area. Eli Smith, whom the community was named, was also laid to rest here. The oldest marker dates back to October 13, 1872.

Smithfield Baptist Church was founded in 1895. A group of residents tired of traveling to Birdville agreed to form a local congregation.
