Description
Tarrant County’s first courthouse, Birdville, Texas. Terrell’s cabin, 6100 Broadway Street, in Haltom City, Texas is believed to have served as the county seat from August 1850- November 1856 until Fort Worth won the county seat by a small margin in a highly contested special election. In 1850, Birdville had a population of 599 white and 65 slaves and covered 877 square miles.
