Description

James Mordecai and Hattie Arwine Anderson with their 10 children. They were civic and community leaders in the early 1900s in the Birdville and Hurst areas. A portion of their farm and pasture land is now “Restaurant Row” on Bedford-Euless Road, North East Mall, and Loop Interstate 820-Airport Freeway interchange. James M. Anderson (1860-1936) migrated from Indiana to Texas in 1883. Not long after he married Hattie Arwine (1868-1960), from a prominent Hurst family. Together they gradually acquired a group of farms.
